The AME certification is specialized licensing programme for servicing and maintenance of Aircraft and only those institutes approved by the DGCA can impart training in this field to prepare you for the AME exam conducted by the DGCA. DGCA will issue an AME license.
Aircraft Maintenance Engineers play a Major role among the Maintenance personnel to keep the Aircraft 'Airworthy' at all times. No civil Aircraft reg. in India can be operated without being certified as Airworthy by the Aircraft Maintenance Engineer’s holding AME licenses in the respective categories. The maintenance of modern sophisticated aircraft calls for high degree of technical knowledge, competence, proficiency & integrity on the part of the concerned personnel. Tremendous responsibility lies upon the Aircraft Maintenance Engineers who are certifying the modern sophisticated Aircraft’s, manned by experienced crew trained at high cost and great care carrying the precious load of ever increasing number of passengers.
JAI is approved by DGCA to offer this AME training course in Mechanical stream (Aeroplane & Powerplant) –comprising of Light Aeroplane (LA), Heavy Aeroplane (HA), Piston Engine (PE), Jet Engine (JE) Mechanical stream trains students to obtain an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer’s Licence with respect to maintaining an aircraft’s Airframe and Engine’s. JAI courses for the stream are of a three year duration consisting of six semesters, each semester of six months. The sixth and final semester being of 6 months duration of the AME course for Mechanical stream is devoted to on-the-job-training (OJT).This approval shall cease to be valid with effect from 01st August,2020
Jawaharlal Aviation Institute is offering CAR 147 Basic AME training in B1.1 (Aeroplane Turbine) Mechanical stream in line with DGCA’s
regulations as per CAR 147 Category B1.1 (Aeroplane Turbine) - Student enrolled under Category B1.1 (Aeroplane Turbine) is trained to obtain
an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer’s License for the maintenance performed on aircraft structure and power plant comprising of Heavy Aeroplane
(HA), Jet Engine (JE).
